Hi Phil,
thinking of is the D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router with 4 Port 10/100 Switch I am using this router with BTOpenworld, and it works fine (I think it has been discontinued?)
Scan still seem to be selling it.
In the end I just connected a single PC to it with a 'hard coded' IP address, configured everything, then plugged the network in.
So it (the modem) doesn't have an IP adress set directly in it ... you have to set the IP on the computer? Is it USB? If so that seems curious ... I thought it was a network device and connected to a PC only via network and thus would have to have an IP?
The only other issue is that driver/firmware upgrades have to be done from a Windows machine.
That bit isn't a problem ... my work machine is Win XP (a somewaht frustrating OS ... you might have heard that somewhere [GRIN]) so I can use that.
I have also heard good reports about the Vigor 2600 Router.
I'll check it out. Thanks James C. Rocks Equant Archway House Canary Wharf London E14 9SZ
