S3 Harware Accel on Toshiba Tecra 8100

      How does one enable hardware (3D) acceleration on the S3 Savage MX/IX chip in 
this machine?  I think I read somewhere that this was not supported in the 
new version of XFree - is this correct? 

The SDB article applies to 7.0 and isn't any help.

Is there a work around?
