Hello, Does anyone know if GNU libtools are available at the SuSE ftp site or included in the SuSE distribution, and, if so, in what package? I searched my installation and CD (Infomagic 6-CD set with SuSE 5.1 on one cd) but couldn't find them. I just installed the alsa-driver for my Creative Ensoniq soundcard (ES1371). It appears to have installed correctly, and detects the card, but the output is muted by default so I'm trying to install the alsamixer from the alsa-utils-0.0.8 package. I need to install the alsa-libs first and apparently need libtools to do so. Anyone have experience with compiling alsa-utils or the alsa-libs-0.1.3.tar.gz package? (kmixer (and my kscd player) from KDE Beta 4.0 got "broken" somehow at sometime and since I've read that not all mixers work with the alsa-driver I figure it makes more sense to spend my time getting the alsa-utils installed.) Happy New Year to everyone on the list!! As others have commented, the support from the folks at SuSE and the helpful way information has been shared by the experienced and the inexperienced has been exemplary!!
