Hey,
I know this is probably a stoopie question...but here goes.
You know that fancy graphic console you get after you have started up.
We did a minimum install of SuSE 7.2...without kde.
Well we did quite a few things remotely after setting up the machine...including upgrading the kernel to 2.4.12-4 (Mantel).
We have rebooted several times remotely...now we only have the regular ole black and white console.
How do we re-enable the fancy console?
Check out /etc/rc.config . There's an option there for a boot splash screen. Make sure it's turned on and run 'SuSEconfig'. If that doesn't fix it, do it manually to find out whether you can [ echo 1 > /proc/splash ] and post back... -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0
