Googling did not uncover anything other than that some bug exists in the xhci_hcd module.
My current kernel is 3.1.10-1.9 I also tried the 12.2 beta which uses kernel 3.4.x and that did not work either but the error was different.
Any ideas what I may try?
I str early problems with usb3 in 12.1 but age and Dos XXs had dimmed the recall. I have an external usb3 which has worked fine with 3.2.x, 3.3.x and now using 3.4.x. I would suggest you upgrade your kernel. I cannot explain your problems with 12.2/3.4.x as I have not tried usb3 there. BUT, I am running Tumbleweed and am close to 12.2, with a later kernel so I cannot see why 12.2 would have problems with usb3.
What does dmesg provide when you attach the usb3 drive?
The relevant output from dmesg is: [ 1654.523453] usb 13-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd [ 1654.536392] xhci_hcd 0000:07:00.0: WARN: short transfer on control ep [ 1654.536480] xhci_hcd 0000:07:00.0: WARN: short transfer on control ep [ 1654.536576] xhci_hcd 0000:07:00.0: WARN: short transfer on control ep ... I will upgrade my kernel and try again. Monty -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
