I seem to recall reading somewhere that SuSE-Linux 7.1 can access the complete set of installed Windows fonts. In my word processing apps. however, Kwrite, StarWrite, WP8, only the rather more limited Linux fonts appear to be available. How do I gain access to these windows fonts, or is it not possible.
Star Office will only display fonts it is able to print. (exept with the online layout, were it displays all fonts known to the x-server) To print TTF's, you'll have to teach them to ghostscript first. After that you need to add them to SO's font list and modify the generic printer driver (ASCII Font listing) for SO52. I redid it last weekend. Was a pain in the but, since I messed up permissions ;-) and wasn't allowed to read gs' fontmap resulting in crap printouts and SO crashing due to be inable to read SGENPRT.PS. I have a description on how to do it, but it's a bit bad. ;-( Let me know if you're dareful, I'll post it.
