Even if it was only 127.0.0.0/8, it would only delay the inevitable. IPv4 simply cannot meet the needs of today, let alone the future. The more people try to dream up schemes to extend IPv4, the worse the problem will get. Move to IPv6. I have!
It is not our decision to make. It is our providers (the ISPs) who must make that move.
And not one provider, but all, at the same time.
Nah, that's not necessary - many providers have already started, but far from all. (I haven't checked, but last I looked, there was a distinct lack of IPv6-capable CPE, eg. xDSL boxes). For bridging the gap during the transitional period, there are two or three options (4to6, 6to4 etc). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-1.8°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
