I have installed several of the kde rpm packages, but when I try to install kbase I get a "failed dependency" message telling me that kbase needs libgif.so.2. Well, libgif.so.2 is in /opt/kde/lib as a link to libgif.so.2.0.3. Since kbase does not complain about the other libraries it needs (which are also in /opt/kde/lib), I wonder what else I need to do.
