Ok, I messed up and had my IDE harddrive set for slave. After quite a long tme a small one line message warned me that no harddrive was present.
However, I went on for grins and it then told the installation to install the repositories. Before the actual hard failure where the file system would be written a lot of time passed.
I think it would have been better to have checked early on for a proper harddrive and if not present then abort.
Should this be bugreported?
