I will give you suggestion about loadlin a try but I don't think my soundcard needs to be initialized under DOS. I'm getting sound with all the programs (quake/doom/xpat2/...) except xboing. You did not mention if you've run xboing. I assume this means you don't. I would still like someone to answer the following: If you run xboing, does it produce sound and if so what is your configuration? Thanks for your reply Terry On Mon, 15 Jun 1998, Michael Lankton wrote:
I have an AWE32, have sound compiled as a module, and have configured isapnp. I have sound for mp3's, audio cd's, Quake/Quake2/Doom, Realplayer, Xanim, and midi. I also have sound for Xmame and games that use the rplay daemon, but ONLY if I boot from loadlin, so obviously something is configured in DOS that isn't getting configured in a lilo boot. I haven't tracked this down yet, but it is so trivial that I haven't been in a big hurry. Try booting from loadlin if you dual boot, and see if you then have sound in Xboing. If so we have the same problem and perhaps someone might offer an answer as to what the problem is.

Does sound work for you when you play xboing?
If the answer is yes could you please add details as to you configuration. If the answer is no (and other programs produce sound) then please also response. This way I can stop trying to get sound to work.
