hi
I've just noticed Viber is available for Linux desktop but they only have a ".deb" install as they've only tested on ubuntu/mint/zorin.
Anyone know if this can be successfully installed on opensuse as a ".deb" or does anyone know if its going to be "ported" to rpm format?
Well.... The easiest way to find out is to try it :-)
I downloaded the deb file, used alien (sudo alien -r --scripts viber.deb) to convert to rpm... zypper in to install. No issues with converting or installing.
The result of installing... Viber is correctly added into the KDEls l menus. Launching Viber works perfectly. I connected to my existing account... validated with the code it sent to my mobile Viber accounts.
So... so far, zero issues.
C excellent. thanks. i didn't know about that "alien", it outta this world.
