Peter, I didn't have to use the ATI drivers as a separate install with SuSE 9.0 on my ATI 9200 radeon! Everything setup and worked nicely. I am guessing it is all built in already or the version of XFree86 fully supports it. Either way, 2D & 3D are quite functional for me without installing the ATI drivers separately!
