Sounds like the old ps2 issue which was solved by switching to
console
and back to X. But if its a USB KB it could power down when disconnected and fully discharge. In that case it can not
sustain.
BTW is the KVM directly connected to the USB KB or is the KB
converted
to ps2?
CWSIV
Yes, the KVM is directly connected to the USB KB. So are you saying
the
usb mouse and keyboard lose energy over time if not powered by the
KVM
switch? Thanks, Jerome
Thats what I was told. If its a breif switching then the system just looses synchronysm and the switching to console and back to x forces
the
hardware to be recognized. But your using a USB KB not PS2 so the
power
problem could be an issue.
Does google have anything on your make and model of KVM??
CWSIV
Jerome,
This no name KVM retains power to devices less than 8 hours which indicates capacitors discharging. We are left then with googling on the exact model kvm (if there are any distinctive marks) and the devices attached to it. what is the make and model of the KB? Belkin OmniView 4-port KVM/audio/USB Switch
have you tested it on another machine? I have two machines attached at the moment. One running 9.0. Did you change
any hardware since this problem arose or was this always a problem?
No changes of hardware. The problem only showed up when I updated to 9.1. Jerome
