file. You need to extract the file first from the email. (!). Maybe the correct extension is ".eml". i do not think, if i change to .eml and try to open with thunderbrid, i get a empty window.
I would suggest your correspondent to first zip the excel file, then attach the zip instead. If mail programs think this is text, they can alter it. For instance, text attachments in email, like this one:
Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii"
as i said above, sender is not able to change.
can change the line end marking and charset when going from windows to Linux or reverse. This is perfectly legal per the RFCS!
sorry this i do not understand, but i do not think charset and or linemarkings are my problem.
I can not say it is for certain, depends on the sending and receiving apps. But it is true, both can alter the files that are declared as "text" in transit. It has happened to me, and then the only solution is to zip the file prior to sending it by email so that it is treated as binary. Try to email the file directly to me, not to the list, but zip it first. Then I can have a go at it with an idea I have. I'm not sure, but I can try. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
