Hi,
I don't remember the reasoning, but why was OpenOffice dropped and replaced with LibreOffice?
Wasn't it the case that Oracle were (are?) very slow/conservative about improving OpenOffice? So a parallel development started that was more aggressive about correcting/extending things? And that is what LibreOffice is based on?
Yes, and this forked development is LibreOffice. We employee lots of the LibreOffice developers actually. If you have a office file which makes troubles, open a bug and attach the file and it gets fixed.
