I bought a laptop, I now want to move over all my kmail stuff to the laptop.
I've attempted to copy the "/home/jerry/Mail" directory to the laptop but kmail then fails to start. Anybody know how to do this?

- backup data (:-)) - copy $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ - copy $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmailrc - copy /MAIL
I've migrated kmail several times, the most recent for a friend when I migrated her kmail accounts, mail and config files from Fedora Core 1 to Suse pro 9.1. I only copied /home/user/Mail and kmailrc and it works fine. I think perhaps in your case the kmailrc is the critical file. Perhaps changing the user ID's from the old folders and files to the ID's in the new system and the ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ may be important. Gus Degreef.
