Is there any way to set the video aspect ratio? I have one computer running 13.1 which was previously connected to the monitor via VGA, but is now using DVI. However, instead of properly fitting the display, the desktop appears stretched, so that circles appear flattened.
Aspect ratio will automatically be correct if the display's native/preferred mode is used. Odds are if it's wrong after a display switch on an already installed system, it's because you are not using a FOSS video driver. With FOSS drivers, automagic usually picks the optimal mode. With proprietary drivers, odds are an adjustment to /etc/X11/xorg.conf* is needed after such an equipment change. It might even be necessary if using a FOSS driver, such as when the display's EDID is bad. Sometimes EDID lies. DVI seems to be pickier than VGA about EDID imperfection.
I'm using the Radeon that drivers came with 13.1. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
