Heh -- I got my first home computer when 64K was an extravagantly expensive add-on, and OS-9 personal edition ran marvelously in my 16K CoCo ($399!). My first maineframe was an IBM 7044 with 32K. My first home computer was an Apple II (not plus) with 4K. I upgraded it to 16K with discarded chips from work. most of the discarded chips were fine in a slow AppleII, but may have been removed because they failed a diagnostic.
I also worked on a POS system in the '70s that had 4K (12 bit words) - DEC PDP8 - used at all Burger King company stores in the early 1970s. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
