I am still new to linux and fumbling my way thru things. Seems to me there has been some discussion of using DSL with linux, but at the time I was not able to get DSL where I live.
Just learned it is now available here.
Will someone point my in the direction of how to access prior threads of discussions on this list (ala DSL - especially on Verizon)? For the most part it is very straightforward. But, I recommend that you get a CableModem/DSL router. These are very inexpensive, provide some firewall capability, and the capability to run multiple systems.
Verizon uses the PPPoE protocol. For connecting your system directly to Verizon DSL, use YaST/Network Devices/DSL. Should be a piece of cake. - -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAHG0G+wA+1cUGHqkRAodsAJ4mdDD/ka++611GR7nLB2GEUWgGQACeOlCs wAHwMmagqQ5VHZ0eMDyBEyI= =hxUI -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
