Strange... Does it still work after a reboot ?
Well, no, and yes. No, after rebooting last evening it didn't work at all, no matter what I tried. That included running setxkbmap -v 10 several times, both with the ss open and closed.
Tonight I open the ss and it worked just fine.
One difference between the two sessions, last night and tonight. Last night I opened a new blank ss and it didn't work. Tonight I opened an existing ss and it worked fine. Then I tried it on a new blank ss and again it worked fine. Tomorrow I'll try a new blank ss first to see if that makes a difference.
Well, I have no idea atm as to how I could further (try to) help you. Have an eye on the other thread ("9.3: Keyboard keymaps and xorg"), you find find something of use in there.
