When you boot the computer, at the boot/Grub loader screen, just type "init 3" at the bottom to stop the boot process at the terminal, text only, screen. At the prompt, log in as root then type "sax 2" to get to your graphics setup screens in full gui mode. When finished, always
be sure to test your screen selection before exiting sax 2!
Once back to the prompt with proper settings, type "init 5" to get to your login screen.
