Ok, i see i have 2 different problems: MY video seems to be played never in firefox, because of the codec but: on the nitter instance: (nitter is a alternativ twitter/x gui without account) https://nitter.privacydev.net i got a lot of videos "no supported mime-type" if i open the same page on https://xcancel.com (another nitter server) the video play well. if i right-click on the not working video (nitter.privacydev.net), and say: open in an new tab, the video will be played in a new tab. mp4 files .mp4:
file .... ISO Media, MP4 Base Media v1 [ISO 14496-12:2003]
i have not copied here the complete url, because i do not like to have world-political discussions here. i do not use "X" only sometimes nitter, so if somebody is familiar with some contend maybe he is able to provide a complete link with cats or dog videos. i could also make a private mail with my links to the page if somebody is interested in the problem. in chromium there are both working well. so maybe a bug in firefox. simoN Am 17.09.24 um 20:06 schrieb Simon Becherer:
Thanks all for quick respond,
yes, i am able to play it with external players. (after downloading it) and i have also (looooong in past) converted files.
the question was more or less, how to get firefox to automatically play it (in an external palyer) did anybody use a extension, or is it possible to configure it in about:preferences / applications / content Type here i am only able to play it after download :-((
