I bought a Microsoft VX1000 USB webcam at the local Staples - little choice as their webcam set has little overlap with mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html ...
The VX1000 with gspca driver works with Kopete but the colours are horrible. Does anybody know how to improve that? With WinXP the colours are right.

Open a bug report at bugs.kde.org, product kopete, component avdevice, and attach a picture of the horrible pictures. Then I'll take it up with the kopete team webcam guy and see if we need to support a different pixel format.
Thanks. I submitted a report at bugs.kde.org but didn't see how to attach a png-file. I mentioned that red turns blue. I don't think it's a Kopete bug. Skype for Linux shows the same false colours.
BTW: UVC cameras are very well supported under Linux (uvcvideo driver) and Kopete too now, and provided a better image in my experience.
How can I recognise UVC webcams in a shop? Robert
