I am having problems with a newly compiled. I have downloaded kernel 2.4.2 for the SuSE website. I compiled the kernel for SMP and 4GB, because I needed those. Now, when I reboot it looks for the modules are /lib/modules/2.4.2, but the modules are created at /lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB-SMP. If I rename the directory, it works somewhat?! What am I doing wrong?
