Hi,
I would like to upgrade my server which runs OpenSuSE 10.3 to the latest version. I wanted to know is it possible to have a backup of all users, passwords and all home directories, so when I install new OS, just simply transfer all data of users to the new system?
Thanks,
D.
probably not with a so old distro. Not sure if the UID are still the same. Do they begin at 1000 like today or 500 like before? if 1000, you can save /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow and /home jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-support-the-Linux-Documentation-Project/3720... http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-fan-page-of-Claire-Dodin/106485119372062?v... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
