[SLE] vmware

I installed vmware 5.5.1 onto 10.1 and then applied the vmware-any-any patch. vmware-config.pl ran fine but when I attempt to run vmware in complains that: vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following command: /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl. Re-running the command and re-booting have no effect and vmware still won't launch. Any ideas?
