[opensuse] Chrome user profile.

Not specifically opensuse but thought I would ask the question. Am using Chrome as my main browser (google-chrome-stable 25.0.1364.97-183676 - where DO those version numbers come from?), and have setup a user profile on my data drive, starting the app with: google-chrome --user-data-dir="/home/data/_data/GoogleChrome/" but the annoyance is, that when I open a URL from any other app (eg a link in an email), it opens a 'bland' chrome window ie a new window with none of the links/bookmarks/extensions from my profile.
