Make sure whatever papers or statistics you look at define the version of Solaris as either SPARC or x86. You can expect to see different metrics depending on the type of architecture you're dealing with. So it wouldn't be fair to compare SuSE to a Solaris machine with a SPARC processor. As for the stats, I'd check Sun's website.
