Hello,
I am trying to create a very very lightweight OpenSuse environment, so as to give maximum resources to GrandOrgue for playing an organ. It will be running IceWM.
I would still like to have the ability to go online from the same machine. But I don't want to run nm-applet at all times. Ideally I'd want to keep Network Manager, but to have a default connection for my home wi-fi, and only start nm-applet if I want some other network or if I am experiencing problems.
So how can I set a default/system/etc Network Manager connection?
If you have wifi connection for SSID and this SSID is visible in scan, NetworkManager will by default attempt to connect to it. Nothing special needs to be done. If multiple SSID are visible and connection for each exists NM will normally chose based on signal strength; I think it prefers last connected SSID. It is possible to disable autoconnect for individual connection if you only want to ever connect manually. There is also autoconnect-priority property which probably comes most close to "default connection". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
