Hello All,
I just installed a clean version of 7.3, "Default Install".
Whenever I go to "update software" in Yast2 I get an error saying that "The SuSE release number on CD 1 differs from the number found on your hard disk. Please insert the CD 1 that matches the release on your Hard Disk..." etc.
Have you tried online update to update your software? Or are you trying to update 7.3? If you are trying to install software from the CD then its instyall/remove software.
What gives? This is the only release CD I've used. This is frustrating the heck out me, to say the least. How can I fix this?
Sounds like you're trying to update via CD when the newest is 7.3 in your machine, rather than 8.0...I might be wrong though.
I'm also curious if I can switch to a network install from SuSE's ftp update servers, to avoid all this nonsense if my CD's are somehow to blame. Is this possible? I did purchase the 7.3 Pro version, but if I can't update it from the install CD, major bummer.
Change source of installation should do the trick.
