The question therefore is: is there a "trick" in selecting the correct starting/ending pages to be printed when a PDF file is opened in either Ocular or LibreOffice?
All help most appreciated.
Basil,
The print dialog I use in KDE3 shows a thumbnail of the starting page when I select a range to print in the print-dialog (should be the same in plasma). I always just do a quick check between the thumbnail and the page I know I need to start printing from. As Patrick indicated, there are a number of reasons the actual "Page Count" will be different from the "Page Number" in a pdf. The thumbnail comparison the the best way I've found so far. (I mainly print pdfs from kpdf)
Thanks David. I'll now look at your additional info and what Patrick wrote to see if I can what the how the 'thumbnail' may help. BTW, kpdf has been discontinued (according to Wikipedia) so hold on to the copy you are now using. BC PS But you know, in the year of our lord, 2020, there is no easy way to correctly print out a range of pages from a pdf file in either Okular or LibreOffice.
