But you said you had hundreds of tabs open. I suggest that you don't want background-autoload if so -- otherwise re-opening Firefox will bog down your computer for several minutes while they all load!
Did I say "OPEN"? I've gone over my past posting and no, I didn't say that. In fact I described starting up with only the selected tab open. yes that is the setting I had, I wasn't even aware I could "start them all up" on bringing FF up. And yes it sounds a good way to bog the machine down.
