Ken, I'm well aware of the etiquette of responding to list messages. I replied in haste and inadvertently hit reply all rather than reply. I didn't notice the action until after I'd hit send. I apologize for that. Thanks again for the reply. Ken,
I checked the /etc/resolve.conf file. The name server line is set to the new DNS server and the name search line has also been updated to follow the settings I made in YAST. I've not configured a DNS server with LINUX and I'll research doing that to see if it improves the situation.
Thanks for your reply.
Dave
Why did you send a reply to my personal address AND the list? Think about it, I am a member of the list and get a copy from there, right? So why would I also need another copy sent to my personal address? That make two copies of the SAME email. Unless instructed by the person trying to help you ONLY reply to the list. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
