I did restart before (or I thought I did) BUT this time I totally shut down for a while, restarted, tried to start KMail again, and got: "KDE Inut could not launch 'kmail'".
Hi Andy, First, can you please 'trim' your quotes? Assuming everything's installed in the default locations, open a terminal (Programs > System > Terminal > Terminal) and issue "/opt/kde3/bin/kmail &". You're bypassing the menu system and launching it from the command line so you want to look for any error messages it gives you for clues. As for finding .xsession-errors, it lives in '/home/andy'. Just use the Konqueror browser, select 'show hidden files' under 'View' and locate the file. You can click on it to read it, too. - Carl -- _______________________________________________________________________ C. E.
