I found, that especially for saving my eyes looking at a screen for long hours, a dark theme really helps take the eye-strain away. So much so that when I click on a light colored site in firefox, etc.., it's blinding. The key whether light or dark theme is adequate contrast. To make that work with a dark theme, you need to desaturate the color. Greatly enhances dark theme contrast. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
