I am running suse 9.3 with an optical mouse via a 2 position kvm switch. I have a similar issue. I don't loose the mouse completely, but it jumps to the side/top/bottom of the screen occasionally, about every 3 min of use. --
Well, there are a lot of KVM switches out there, but the ones I've used have not caused mouse problems. In particular, they do not cause the kind of symptoms often associated with disconnecting and reconnecting the mouse (without a KVM switch). I believe that's because they're well enough designed to present continuous signal or impedance levels to the mouse port on the system to which they're attached even when the mouse itself is connected to another computer.
