Funny, I also have 12.3, but in Yast->Software Management there is no "File" menu : http://files.jessen.ch/adenauer-yast2-screenshot.jpeg
Whilst we're on the topic, can this package list be used/imported during installation?
Ah yes, I see where it may be imported - if only I could specify a URL instead of a filesystem location.
I believe you have to save that file on a memory stick or or someplace, and do a minimal install, then copy it to root's directory and import it from there. I saw one web page some time back where I guy did this, but frankly I haven't tried it. Its usefullness is highly suspect, because it mentions specific versions of the packages: <entry kind="package" name="psmisc" epoch="0" ver="22.20" rel="2.1.1" arch="x86_64"/> <entry kind="package" name="proxymngr" epoch="0" ver="1.0.3" rel="8.2" arch="x86_64"/> <entry kind="package" name="providers" epoch="0" ver="2006.11.21" rel="121.1.1" arch="noarch"/> <entry kind="package" name="projectM-data" epoch="0" ver="2.1.0" rel="4.4.1" arch="x86_64"/> That might work if installing from a static source such as a CD rom, but if you had fetched any of those from repositiries they might not even be available any more.
