For the first time during the install of 7.3 (with the default kernel) I accepted the installer's offer of setting up ReiserFS partitions for those other than /boot. It carried on to install /, /home and so on onto Reiser partitions, so I don't think the problem can be a general inability of the stock kernel to support Reiser. Something else more specific to your machine must be going on, but I can't guess what it is if you are using the default kernel. Hope you can sort it, Best Fergus Tamas Pusztai wrote:
Hello,
How to install 7.3 to a ReiserFS partition?
When I set the partition type to ReiserFS, it is formatted correctly, but after formatting the setup program says something like: 'Cannot mount /dev/hdax, ReiserFS is not supported by kernel'.
I couldn't find a way to insert the ReiserFS kernel module to be present at this step of the installation.
SuSE 7.2 didn't have this bug.
Thanks,
Tamas
