Shouldn't I get some sort of list from the portmapper?
I am clueless now. ;-( On my system: brauki@marvin:/home/brauki > rpcinfo -p localhost program vers proto port 100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper 100000 2 udp 111 portmapper 545580417 1 udp 876 bwnfsd 545580417 1 tcp 878 bwnfsd 100005 1 udp 925 mountd 100005 2 udp 925 mountd 100005 1 tcp 928 mountd 100005 2 tcp 928 mountd 100003 2 udp 2049 nfs 100003 2 tcp 2049 nfs ame with rpconfo -p 192.168.42.243 (It's my ip address). So it gives a list. Not sure wether some setting in /etc/hosts.deny could play some evil trick.
