Thanks for the note, now can you tell me how it's done?
I ordered 8.0 , used "cp * -Rv /hda11/suse8.0
it shows up in the installation but when I select /hda11 it gives the error,
no installation medium found, if I go to another scree the error says
/hda11/:no such device
Could you please list the steps you used to do the installation from the hard
drive? Having done it a couple of times you probably remember it very well.
thanks in advance
joe
PS: It appears this is not covered under the free installation support with
the professional package, but I did not call SuSE to confirm that it is not
covered. They do mention the ftp installation is not covered, but nothing at
all about hard drive installation- I remember when they had instructions in
the manuals to do it.

Does anyone know if version 8.0 of SuSE pro will allow paying customers the right to copy the installation disks to their hard drive and do a complete installtion and further updates directly from the hard drive?
I know, and it will. Used it a couple of times myself. -----------------------------------------------------------
