When I start the vncviewer on the windows client I get prompted for the session password. After entering it, all I get is a window that is the grey crosshatch background, the "x" cursor, and nothing else --- No KDM login. :-(
You need to go into your home directory, then into the hidden .vnc directory, and edit the xstartup file.

#!/bin/sh
xrdb $HOME/.Xresources xsetroot -solid grey xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" & kde &
