For Leap: Did anybody change from kde PIM 4 in Leap to Version 5 and:
Yes
did this take over all settings and mailboxes without problems?
Yes, including e-mail identities and so on. KMail just started to use different aggregation of threads, but it can be changed by few clicks.
If you had quirks which one? And did you find a work around?
It was not so long ago discussed on oS-KDE ML that You need to turn off Akonadi before upgrade so that the upgrader can safely convert the DB.
Did the migration of kgpg based wallets work?
I don't have this settings. My Kwallet (I do not have unlocking password, whole my disk is encrypted) was migrated.
Does anybody use smartcard based gpg mail encrytion with 5? Does it work?.
I didn't try.
Any warnings to be mentioned?
Keep good backup before doing so if You have valuable data in there. :-)
Sorry for the many questions but before trying to migrate I try to gather some info.
Note settings of KDE PIM 5 apps is not 100% same as of KDE PIM 4, so check it after upgrade. If You are using Akregator and You have some special settings in Konqueror regarding Ad blocking, privacy and so on, empty its cache.
Thank you.
No testing, but new Akonadi seems to be much faster. Also to mention, I do not see really dramatic change in KDE PIM 5 apps comparing to the older version. -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux http://www.opensuse.org/ http://trapa.cz/cs
