I'd call that "no support", not just minimal... Weird part is, according to the sdb articles I've found there used to be support, in yast even.
may be I simply misunderstood something, and the fingerprint reader I have if special, even difficult to use in windows (and unusable in windows 10)
For sure there was support for it in 13.2. I tried it when I installed my previous laptop (was in 2010), and there was a pam module for it, so I could use it to log in. Was not too reliable though, and I never used it again. My new T460p also has one, but I didn't look at it so far. Maye I should? (but I'm running TW on it...)
