Hey all-
I just switched to SuSE from Red Hat and I have to say that it's really nice for things to work right out of the box!
Anyway, I was wondering what the difference is between SuSE RPMs and Red Hat RPMs? Are they of the same format? Can I install RPMs from Red Hat and/or Yggdrasil (sp?) on my system and not worry if any files were misplaced?
We use RPM version 2.4.10 (S.u.S.E. Linux 5.1) and it's the same one RedHat uses, we don't have a special rpm format. As long as the packages don't contain any Redhat or Yggdrasil specials and they conform to the FSSTD it should not be a problem to install them on S.u.S.E. linux.
