My guess is that the laptop specific mail lists would be helpfull. That info might be somewhere in either http://www.ati.com/support/faq/linux.html or http://www.pairlist.net/pipermail/linux-laptop/2002-February/000378.html http://www.gonnta.ne.jp/~itty/linux/C1MRX-XF86Config-4 Best Regards, Dee -----Original Message----- From: Jerry Feldman [mailto:gerry.feldman@compaq.com] Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 10:26 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] Compaq Presario 2700 I checked the specs,

I have a friend in the US who has installed SuSE 7.2 and WinXP on a Presario 2700 laptop. He was able to get the dual boot to work without a problem. However X will not configure. When he gets to the Monitor config he selected LCD (and also tried a few others), result was a blank test screen then a message saying "do not use X".
Has anyone been able to config X on this system? Any pointers on video/monitor drivers are appreciated.
