I haven't had to do that, only:
/usr/sbin/update-alternatives --install /usr/lib/X11/displaymanagers/default-displaymanager default-displaymanager /usr/lib/X11/displaymanagers/kdm3 15
What does that do for you? I tried, but it didn't seem to change anything.

BR,
Thank you Mark! I remember the discussion, but could not remember where or when, but I knew it was recently discussed. Yes, this is a very OLD issue. I recall the same problems with the xdg/autostart folder just as soon as KDE 4.0.4 was released with 11.0 and all the crap that appeared in the systemwide autostart folder. I must have nuked the contents of that folder 30 times over the years, but didn't put 2+2 together that plasma would do the same thing. Your google foo runs strong friend. I looked last night, but without success. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
