I don't get it....its a fact that the classical music industry has always grasped the concept of newer technology before anyone ever does. The pop music industry bad-mouthed the cassette tape, the CD, and now mp3. It's going to be a matter of time before they get on it themself. Sorry, it's late and I'm feeling pissy. Anyway, will using grip be pretty self explanatory? I'm not sure if I'll have time to play with it since I'm heading to Hawaii on Friday. I imagine I just drop a CD in, select the tracks, and convert them with the bit rate I want. Am I even close? Thanks, Tom On Thursday 19 June 2003 1:16 am, Curtis Rey wrote:

OK, I just got a Creative Labs MuVo and managed to figure out (to an extent) how to put files on it. Now to advance. How do I make an mp3?
I know I can download them, but I want to make some of my own.

P.S. RIAA - If you're listening...bite me!
Lol, I like the sig!. I have used many of the programs on Linux, but the one that seems to work the best is the front end program "grip" - the gnome ripper. I will both rip and then encode the wav files to mp3, and IIRC ogg as well.
