UUGH...Duh...! There are a whole slew of updates (I swear I just did that last night). Will report back after update.

php.net is fine. This is troubling (again) that Firefox just suddenly stopped working. In the past 15 years -- the intermediate certificate cockup that disable all addons a couple of weeks ago, and then php.net today, are the only time Firefox just quit working...
