Hi,
Now that I got my Linux box to dial up, I would like to ask one of the most important newbie questions. How do I automatically set my Fvwm2 backgrounds. I used 'xv -root /location/image.gif' to do this by hand, but I cant seem to make the FvwmBacker work for me. I copied and pasted the sample script right out of the man page, removed the line with the image, and saved the file as .fvwm2rc. When I restarted my windows manager, I lost my tool bar and the ability to move my windows around, as well as some other functionality. Does any one know a simple way to accomplish this?
This is what I have in my .fvwm2rc ######################### Initialization Functions ########################### AddToFunc InitFunction "I" Module FvwmButtons + "I" Module FvwmAuto 500 raise nop + "I" exec xbiff -rv + "I" exec nscal #+ "I" Module FvwmAudio + "I" exec xv -quit -root -random -rmode 0 /usr/include/ X11/backround/* AddToFunc RestartFunction "I" Module FvwmButtons + "I" Module FvwmAuto 500 raise nop #+ "I" Module FvwmAudio + "I" exec xv -quit -root -random -rmode 0 /usr/include/ X11/backround/* This allows me to have random backrounds so that I have something different to look at everytime I log in. You can add the images you want to be your backrounds in the directory. I still use xv because my Unix experience started from HP-UX. -- Andrew L.
