Hi,
Some may have noticed that over the past couple of weeks or so that the 'Normal' header[1] in _some_ posts has suddenly been displaying new entries called 'autocrypt' and 'openpgp' with the former containing many lines of alpha-numeric characters. See here:
Having the Header filled with these alpha-numeric characters is a PITA, but this can be easily remedied by doing a minor edit in the about:config file. To do this go to:
Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Config Editor
Do a search for 'autocrypt' and _delete_ 'autocrypt openpgp' in the 'Value' field. No need to restart Thunderbird.

Autocrypt is a new feature included in Enigmail. If you don't use enigmail you don't get that at all. In case you use enigmail you might rather want to disable autocrypt in the account settings under OpenPGP-Security->Autocrypt
In addition you might want to read https://autocrypt.org/index.html
Thank you, Wolfgang, for your comments and the URL re autocrypt. I have read some of the info given there and when my head stops spinning I'll reread what I read :-D. BTW, I do not have enigmail installed so why the autocrypt showed up in the Headers of msgs from a selection of people on the openSUSE mail lists is a puzzle to me.
